Shares of Clover Bio-B (02197) climbed more than 6% during the afternoon trading session. As of the latest update, the stock was up 5.24% to HK$2.01, with trading volume reaching HK$5.486 million.

The recent surge comes as the company unveiled encouraging preliminary results from its Phase II clinical trial in Australia, evaluating its respiratory combination vaccine candidates, SCB-1022 (RSV+hMPV) and SCB-1033 (RSV+hMPV+PIV3), among elderly participants.

Additionally, Clover Bio-B has successfully completed the commercial-scale production scale-up of the antigen components for SCB-1022/1033 using a 2000L bioreactor system, along with multiple production batches. Chief Executive Officer Liang Guo highlighted that these favorable trial outcomes considerably mitigate the risks associated with future late-stage development, while also validating the company's differentiated Trimer-Tag platform's capability in creating multivalent protein-based respiratory vaccines.
