Wuzhong City Announces Results for 983MW Wind-Solar Co-location Projects: Aoxin Holdings and CGN Lead the Selection

According to information from Fengmang Energy, on September 7th, the People's Government of Wuzhong City, Ningxia, released the public notice regarding the competitive allocation results for guaranteed grid-connected new energy projects for the year 2026. The announcement reveals that a total of 16 wind-solar co-location projects have been included in the autonomous region's 2026 development and construction plan, with a combined capacity of 983,000 kilowatts. Additionally, one project that had its quota reclaimed and scrapped has been re-applied for, with a capacity of 50 megawatts.

Looking at the project developers for the wind-solar co-location projects included in the 2026 plan, Aoxin Holdings Co., Ltd. has secured the largest capacity, totaling 251,100 kilowatts, followed by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) with 200,000 kilowatts, and Hunan Energy Group with a 160,000-kilowatt project.

On June 3rd, the Development and Reform Commission of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region issued a notice on the 2026 new energy project development and construction plan for the region. The plan stipulates that a total of 5.5 million kilowatts of guaranteed grid-connected new energy projects will be arranged for development in 2026, comprising 4.8 million kilowatts of wind power and 700,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic (PV) power. The breakdown by city includes 180,000 kilowatts of wind power in Yinchuan, 180,000 kilowatts in Shizuishan, 1.453 million kilowatts of new energy in Wuzhong (including 100,000 kilowatts of PV), 1 million kilowatts in Guyuan, 2.605 million kilowatts in Zhongwei (including 600,000 kilowatts of PV), and 82,000 kilowatts in Ningdong.

The plan encourages the construction of integrated wind-solar-storage system-friendly new energy power stations. It supports the development of wind-solar co-location projects at existing or under-construction PV power stations with favorable wind resources and grid access conditions, within the station premises or within a 500-meter radius, to intensively and efficiently utilize land resources. Furthermore, the adoption of wind turbines featuring "large capacity, long blades, tall towers, and smart technology" is being promoted. Details are as follows:
