Drivers in Kunming are being urged to fill up their tanks immediately, as a significant fuel price hike is set to take effect tomorrow evening. The 18th price adjustment of 2026 will occur at 24:00 on September 11th, with forecasts suggesting an increase of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter. Following the previous rise of more than 0.29 yuan per liter, gasoline prices have now climbed 11 times this year against just five decreases, pushing cumulative gains past 1.32 yuan per liter over the first eight months. With international crude oil surging over 3.25% at today's market close, the projected increase has grown substantially.

The ongoing strength in global oil prices has driven the crude oil change rate to 5.89%, translating to an expected upward revision of 330 yuan per ton. Based on this trajectory, gasoline and diesel prices are likely to rise by 0.25 to 0.30 yuan per liter starting tomorrow evening. With less than 48 hours remaining before the adjustment, September 12th will bring the new, higher price levels into effect. After tomorrow's hike, prices for 95-octane gasoline are expected to approach the 9 yuan per liter mark. Currently, most regions have already seen 95-octane prices reach 8.60 yuan per liter following the last increase. With an additional rise of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter, the fuel grade will edge closer to the "9-yuan era" by the day after tomorrow. Note that these figures are institutional projections, and the final adjustment will be confirmed by official announcements.
