Value investor Duan Yongping announced on September 11 that he plans to sell all call options on Occidental Petroleum (OXY) and, after exercising, directly convert the proceeds into Berkshire Hathaway (BRKb) stock.

In a comment replying to a post about Berkshire's energy holdings, Duan said: "I plan to sell all OXY calls, and the exercised part will be directly swapped for BRKb. For me, understanding oil companies is a bit difficult." This statement reflects his cautious stance on the oil sector and his preference for Berkshire, a company he knows well.

The original post by user @T-bones detailed Berkshire's core holdings in Occidental and Chevron (CVX), but Duan did not evaluate that analysis. He simply stated his own trading plan.

Duan, a long-time Berkshire follower, is known for his value-investing approach, and this move is seen as a personal portfolio adjustment.
