This initiative aims to build a robust quality and safety defense line for agricultural products, spanning from the field to the dining table.

Key Focus on Pesticide Management in Crop Production

Regulatory efforts prioritize critical pesticide usage stages in crop farming. Supervisory and law enforcement personnel have conducted extensive legal awareness campaigns and source-control measures. By distributing and displaying lists of prohibited and restricted pesticides, addressing key problematic varieties, and providing materials on pesticide safety intervals and certification requirements, authorities have normalized science-based guidance on safe pesticide application. These actions regulate the pesticide use and sales practices of agricultural production entities, with over 600 informational materials distributed and 12 entities inspected. Furthermore, targeted supervision and sampling of key problematic edible agricultural products has been advanced, particularly focusing on Chinese cabbage. A total of 10 cabbage samples have been collected, with priority testing for banned and restricted pesticides. This addresses risks from prohibited substances and conventional pesticide residues directly at the source.

Strengthening Law Enforcement and Supervision

Focusing on critical stages of agricultural and veterinary drug operations, production, and sales, the County Agricultural Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Brigade has launched a comprehensive special rectification campaign. Teams have conducted thorough inspections and checks of agricultural and veterinary drug retail outlets across Yaodu Town, Zhangxi Town, and Guangang Town. This special initiative has effectively purified the local market environment for agricultural and veterinary drugs, standardizing production and operational order across the sector.

Reinforcing Veterinary Drug Regulation in Aquatic Products

Targeting key points in veterinary drug use for aquaculture, fishery technicians and enforcement officers have conducted legal awareness sessions at aquaculture pond sites. By distributing and posting lists of prohibited and restricted veterinary drugs for aquatic products, and educating on banned, restricted, and discontinued drugs as well as withdrawal periods, they guide farmers toward scientific and compliant use of fishery medicines. Routine inspections and risk monitoring of aquatic products have been intensified to track medication use, testing results, and pond harvest schedules in real-time. Three aquaculture entities have been inspected, and three batches of samples collected. Through these inspections and sampling, strict implementation of veterinary drug withdrawal periods is enforced, curbing the use of banned substances, other compounds, and discontinued drugs. This solidifies the quality and safety defense line for aquatic products at their origin.
