Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals Co.,Ltd. (600276.SH) has announced that it recently received notification from China's National Medical Products Administration, granting approval for two additional indications of its independently developed Class 1 innovative drug, hetrombopag olamine tablets.

The newly approved indications cover adult patients with chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia (CTIT) arising from solid tumor anti-tumor treatment, as well as pediatric patients aged 6 years and above with chronic primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have shown inadequate response to prior therapies such as corticosteroids and immunoglobulins, aiming to elevate platelet counts and reduce or prevent bleeding episodes.

Notably, hetrombopag stands as China's first self-developed non-peptide oral thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA). With this latest approval, the product becomes the world's first TPO-RA to secure a CTIT indication, offering robust support for anti-tumor therapies and advancing standardized, comprehensive management of CTIT.

Furthermore, this approval marks a significant milestone as China's pediatric ITP field welcomes its first domestically developed oral TPO-RA, providing a new oral treatment alternative for second-line therapy in a broader patient population.
