On September 2nd, the 2026 (6th) CSPC China Smart Projection Industry Forum, themed "AI Transforms the World of Light and Shadow," was grandly held in Qingdao. Fengmi Tech's COO, Chen Zhi, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech titled "Laser: The Key Answer for the Next Stage," systematically reviewing the ten-year development journey of smart micro-projectors while unveiling the company's strategic direction for the coming decade.

In his presentation, Chen noted that over the past ten years, smart micro-projectors have undergone three critical leaps. From 2015 to 2018, the category initially emerged. Between 2019 and 2020, the combination of LED light sources with single-LCD solutions propelled the industry into the mass market with high cost-performance. From 2020 to 2023, ALPD semiconductor laser light source technology broke through the brightness limitations of LED, officially ushering micro-projectors into the high-brightness era. Then, from 2023 to 2025, the industry entered a phase of "imported lasers plus domestic supply chain," enabling the rapid proliferation of laser projection.

"Three leaps, one direction - laser display is the ultimate answer for home projection," Chen emphasized. As a benchmark enterprise for ALPD semiconductor laser light source technology, Fengmi Tech's laser display heritage dates back to 2013, when its parent company, Appotronics, collaborated with LG to launch the world's first 100-inch laser TV. This pioneering move deeply influenced the laser-focused foundation of Fengmi Tech upon its establishment in 2016. In 2017, Fengmi released its first-generation laser micro-projector, the "Xiaoming M1," bringing laser display down to home applications. By 2018, it launched a 10,000-yuan laser TV, and in 2020, it entered the 1LCD era while fully embracing domestic component localization.

Fengmi Tech has forged a path that started with laser technology and has grown alongside China's projection industry over more than a decade - from the parent company's initial breakthrough in 2013 to its own ten years of practical exploration. Laser has consistently been the central thread running through Fengmi's technological DNA. The smart projection industry is currently at a pivotal moment, transitioning from rapid growth to high-quality development, with consumer demands shifting from mere "presence" to a comprehensive evaluation of product value.

The industry is moving from "high-speed growth" to "structural deepening," from "spec stacking" to "experience reshaping," and from "scale priority" to "high-quality operations." Fengmi Tech calls on the entire industry to "abandon low-quality involution and return to the essence of experience; reject inflated parameters and safeguard consumer trust; and shun market disparagement and malignant publicity," working together to build a healthy ecosystem. The company also urges upstream and downstream partners to collectively strive for laser technology to penetrate mainstream price points, even reaching the thousand-yuan tier, achieving true universal adoption.

Looking ahead to the new development phase, Chen Zhi outlined Fengmi Tech's "Three Returns" strategy. The first is returning to the essence of parameters, where the ultimate result of technical competition must translate into users' real perceptions, ensuring consumers see better, use it longer, feel more comfortable, and find it worthwhile. The second is returning to laser technology, which is both Fengmi's solid starting point and the key answer for the industry's next stage - its advantages in color, lifespan, and efficiency represent a core direction for sustainable industry development. The third is returning to long-term operations, from technology democratization to the rise of an independent industry, bringing laser to the masses, responding faster to the market, gaining deeper insights into Chinese consumers, and pursuing more autonomous product innovation to build lasting industrial self-reliance.

At the forum, Fengmi Tech was invited to witness the launch ceremony of two standard-setting initiatives initiated by the China Electronic Video Industry Association: "Technical Requirements and Testing Methods for AI Projectors" and "Technical Requirements and Testing Methods for Projector Gimbals." The company also engaged with industry peers in in-depth discussions on the development direction of the smart projection industry's new cycle, exploring the path from technological upgrades to experience reconstruction for high-quality development. Additionally, during this year's CSPC forum, JD.com 3C Digital, Runtu Technology, and projection industry representatives from various application scenarios jointly released the "2026 Smart Projection Value Innovation and Scenario-Based Practice White Paper."

In the bedroom, a typical usage scenario, the Xiaoming Q6 smart projector was recommended in the white paper as an industry benchmark, thanks to its superior picture quality, customizable ambient lighting, and smart interaction features that create an immersive, comfortable audio-visual space. Notably, Fengmi Tech's product lines now cover diverse scenarios and price segments, including bedrooms, living rooms, and homestays, catering to differentiated needs and further validating the company's comprehensive layout and robust capabilities in multi-scenario smart projection. Going forward, Fengmi Tech will continue to use laser display as its core engine, deeply advancing the "Three Returns" strategy - driving product experience upgrades through the essence of parameters, leading high-quality industry development through laser technology, and building industrial self-reliance through long-term operations. Standing at the starting point of a new decade, the company remains committed to bringing laser display into every household and embarking on the next golden decade together with the smart projection industry.
