CH BIOTECH SER (08037) has announced that its affiliate, Pengbo (Hainan) Boron Neutron Medical Technology Co., Ltd., operating under the commercial brand Pengbo (Hainan) Boron Neutron Hospital, entered into a framework collaboration agreement on 2 September 2026 with Oncare Medical Cancer Centre (Oncare), a member institution of the Hong Kong-based integrated oncology specialist group, Tianma Medical Group (Tianma).
The agreement focuses on cross-border medical services, two-way patient referrals, and related collaborative initiatives for oncology patients. This flagship boron neutron capture therapy project is situated within the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone in Hainan Province, China.
Under the terms of the agreement, the hospital and Oncare will establish a cross-border tumour diagnosis and treatment coordination mechanism, enabling bidirectional referrals for eligible patients. Oncare will manage the overseas-side responsibilities, including regulatory compliance education, patient preliminary screening and assessment, coordination of cross-border referrals, guidance on entry and medical visits, as well as post-treatment overseas rehabilitation and follow-up management. The hospital will oversee the clinical boron neutron treatment, inpatient care, medical quality and safety during the patient's hospital stay, while ensuring timely communication of treatment progress with Oncare. Both parties will also conduct joint multi-disciplinary team (MDT) consultations for pre-screened patients.
This framework agreement is valid for one year from its signing date, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement. Specific implementation arrangements, including any details pertaining to overseas physician practice and joint treatment protocols, will be governed by separate implementation agreements to be executed subsequently.
Oncare is a comprehensive oncology institution in Hong Kong offering a full spectrum of cancer care services, including radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, clinic-based chemotherapy, as well as related specialist surgical and nursing services. As a member of Tianma, a medical group specialising in oncology with a network spanning Singapore, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, Oncare brings extensive regional expertise to the collaboration.
The hospital, as the group's flagship project in the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, commenced trial operations in February 2026, began treating patients in March 2026, and has since completed dozens of treatment cases. Its approved indications primarily cover head and neck tumours, with plans to expand to other solid tumours. Boron neutron therapy is a precise form of radiotherapy characterised by high tumour targeting and relatively limited damage to surrounding normal tissues.
As disclosed in the company's announcement dated 3 August 2026 regarding clinical treatment progress, the first 10 head and neck cancer patients treated with boron neutron therapy at the hospital achieved an overall response rate of 80%, based on three-month post-treatment follow-ups. The group has previously signed cooperation agreements with well-known Mainland hospitals, including Beijing United Family Hospital Management Co., Ltd., to expand patient sources in the Chinese market.
This latest agreement aims to further broaden the hospital's patient base for boron neutron therapy through Oncare's screening, referral, and follow-up capabilities, combined with Tianma's oncology network across Hong Kong and other Asia-Pacific markets. Leveraging the pioneering medical policies of the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, the initiative seeks to establish a closed-loop cross-border service model of "overseas assessment, domestic treatment, and overseas follow-up."
The collaboration also facilitates suitable patients' access to follow-up rehabilitation or other oncology services in Hong Kong and other markets covered by Oncare and Tianma's network, thereby enabling the group to expand its reach from the Chinese market further into the broader Asian market.
