Drivers are advised to fill up their tanks now, as a significant fuel price increase is on the horizon. The 18th price adjustment of the year will take effect at 24:00 on September 11th, potentially adding close to 0.30 yuan per liter to the cost of fuel.

Following the last hike, which saw prices climb by more than 0.29 yuan per liter, 2026 has now witnessed 11 price increases against only 5 decreases. The cumulative rise over the first eight months of the year has already surpassed 1.32 yuan per liter. This trend is set to continue, as international oil prices surged over 3.25% at the close of trading this morning, leading to a substantial increase in today's projected adjustment.

Driven by the ongoing strength in global markets, the crude oil change rate has now reached 5.89%. This translates to an expected price increase of 330 yuan per ton. Based on this figure, petrol and diesel prices are forecast to rise by 0.25 to 0.30 yuan per liter after tomorrow night's adjustment.

Once this increase takes effect, the price of 95-octane petrol will be approaching the symbolic "9 yuan era." In most regions, this grade of fuel has already climbed to 8.60 yuan per liter following the last hike. With the additional near-0.30 yuan increase slated for tomorrow, drivers should prepare for another noticeable rise at the pump.
