Digital Nomads Discover a New Haven in Xiong'an's Innovation Hub

On the morning of September 8, inside the OPC ecological community at the Xiong'an New Area Artificial Intelligence Industrial Park, 90s-born entrepreneur Zhang Tianlong was busy at his workstation. Just days earlier, he had returned from meeting investors in Shenzhen. "If we can seal a deal, my OPC (One-Person Company) venture can leap forward significantly," he said with anticipation.

This marks Zhang Tianlong's second entrepreneurial journey and a fresh exploration of the AI-driven era. He previously ran a stable software company in Qinhuangdao, which he describes as a traditional enterprise. "The wave of AI arrived, and I wanted to seize the chance to compete on a completely new track," he said. Describing himself as a quintessential "digital nomad," Zhang's background includes a computer science degree, a first startup in software development, and years of participating in entrepreneurship camps in cities like Beijing and Hangzhou. His current focus is developing an innovative application designed to foster a new social paradigm for campus engagement in the age of artificial intelligence.

In July, Zhang brought his ideas and laptop to Xiong'an, joining the OPC ecological community. The environment immediately impressed him—the office area is spacious, bright, tidy, and rent-free. He can enjoy a free coffee in the leisure zone during breaks, and public meeting rooms are readily available for interaction with friends, clients, or product presentations. The well-equipped facilities instilled a sense of belonging from day one, making him feel he had made the right choice.

However, the OPC community offers Zhang much more than just a workstation. "When I started my previous company, a dedicated team handled all the licensing paperwork. I was quite anxious about managing it all on my own this time," Zhang admitted. To his relief, the community provides a "zero-obstacle, handle-everything" service. All business registration processes are submitted online, with guidance provided at every step and hands-on support for any issues. He completed all administrative tasks remarkably quickly.

The nurturing environment has accelerated his project's growth. Leveraging AI tools, Zhang named his application "Six Degrees Campus," single-handedly completing product development, interface design, and logo creation. "Tasks that once required a full team can now be accomplished by one person here," he explained. After meticulous refinement, his product has reached its final testing phase and will soon launch on the app market.

Behind the "one-person company" lies the support of a broader "team." In terms of administrative services, the OPC community provides a one-stop service for talent incubation and entrepreneurship; a single phone call connects entrepreneurs to a dedicated liaison for any need. For computational power, startups receive six months of free computing resources and token support, along with access to high-quality essential elements like AI tools and vertical intelligent agents, as well as support for building and applying multi-level scenarios. On the financial front, the community encourages financial institutions to offer exclusive products such as "computing power loans" and "data loans," and provides eligible OPC founders with entrepreneurial guarantee loans.

"By continuously improving the support service system, we aim to build a complete OPC incubation cycle that integrates policy interpretation, AI learning, practical training, project screening, startup incubation, and resource connection," said Xu Pengcheng, head of OPC community operations. He emphasized that the community is dedicated to creating a "home" for digital nomads heading to Xiong'an—a place where they can put down roots, grow, and mutually empower one another.

Sitting at the neighboring workstation is Yang Hongwei, a former employee of a major Beijing tech company who started his own venture in Xiong'an a month earlier than Zhang. After meeting, the two began exchanging insights online and discussing projects and development plans in person. "I seek his advice on content operations, while he consults me on technical strategies. Although our projects differ, we share knowledge and inspire each other—gaining a lot in the process," Zhang noted.

"This is an interesting place, gathering so many like-minded individuals who empower each other and achieve mutual success," Xu Pengcheng added. For OPC founders, beyond the excellent services, the most valuable assets are the sense of community and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Currently, over a dozen OPCs have established themselves in the ecological community. They frequently exchange technical ideas and engage in creative brainstorming, fostering a mutually supportive environment.

An individual's success is often elevated by a collective; behind every workstation, there is an entire ecosystem providing care. As industrial policy benefits in the Xiong'an New Area continue to unfold, more OPC entrepreneurs will flock to this city of the future. Here, they connect and grow together, converging vibrant energy for innovation and entrepreneurship.
