Fuel Prices Set to Rise at Midnight: Check How Much More You'll Pay

At midnight on September 11th (this Friday), the 18th fuel price adjustment of the year will take effect. Due to escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and heightened shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz, the risk premium in the crude oil market has climbed rapidly. This week, both international and domestic crude oil prices have surged significantly.

By the 5th working day of the adjustment cycle, calculations show that gasoline and diesel are expected to rise by 160 yuan per ton and 155 yuan per ton, respectively. Converted to terminal gas station prices, 92-octane gasoline is projected to increase by 0.13 yuan per liter, 95-octane gasoline by 0.14 yuan per liter, and 0-diesel by 0.13 yuan per liter. After the adjustment, filling a standard 50-liter tank will cost an extra 6.5 to 7 yuan. The final adjusted price will be subject to the official announcement from the National Development and Reform Commission (the figures above are only institutional forecasts, and the final adjustment range will be based on official release).

The following "fuel-saving tips" are recommended for you to save for reference:

1. Maintain steady driving speeds and avoid sudden acceleration or braking, which can significantly reduce fuel consumption. 2. Check tire pressure regularly, as under-inflated tires increase rolling resistance and fuel usage. 3. Remove unnecessary heavy items from the trunk to lighten the vehicle's load. 4. Use air conditioning wisely on highways instead of opening windows, which creates drag. 5. Plan routes ahead of time to avoid congested areas and reduce idle time.
