Fuel Price Hike Set to Take Effect This Evening

Drivers are advised to fill up their tanks after work today as fuel prices are set to rise once again. On September 11, the National Development and Reform Commission announced that since the last adjustment of domestic refined oil product prices on August 28, the conflict between the US and Iran has escalated once again, leading to a sustained and significant surge in international crude oil prices.

In order to mitigate the impact of rising international oil prices on the domestic market, temporary regulatory measures have been implemented for domestic refined oil product prices while maintaining the existing pricing mechanism framework. Based on calculations under the current pricing mechanism, the prices of domestic gasoline and diesel (standard products) were supposed to increase by 435 yuan and 420 yuan per tonne respectively on September 11. However, after the regulatory adjustments, the actual increases will be 260 yuan and 250 yuan per tonne respectively.

The National Development and Reform Commission will guide refined oil production and sales enterprises to make every effort to ensure production and transportation, guaranteeing stable market supply. Additionally, it will cooperate with relevant departments to intensify market supervision and inspection efforts, strictly cracking down on illegal and non-compliant activities such as failure to implement national pricing policies, so as to effectively maintain market order and protect consumer interests.
