Prudential cancels 645,539 shares and buys back additional 661,774 shares

Prudential plc reported that it cancelled 645,539 ordinary shares on Sep, 04 2026. The shares had been repurchased on Sep, 02 2026 at an average price of GBP 10.0186 each, trimming the company’s issued share capital to 2,494,162,286 shares, a reduction of about 0.026%.

In a separate transaction on Sep, 04 2026, Prudential bought back another 661,774 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange. The purchases were executed at prices ranging from GBP 10.155 to GBP 10.47 per share, for a total consideration of roughly GBP 6.79 million. All of these shares are intended for cancellation.

The repurchases were made under shareholder mandates approved at the company’s annual general meetings held on May, 14 2025 and May, 28 2026. Prudential’s current buy-back authorities permit the repurchase of up to 252.8 million shares, of which about 826,250 shares have now been utilised. Following the latest cancellations, the company’s outstanding share count stands at 2,494,162,286.
