Meig Smart Technology Co.,Ltd. (03268) has announced that on September 4, 2026, the company, together with Zhaoge Venture Capital and Xinyuan Optoelectronics, entered into a shareholders' agreement to establish a joint venture in Shanghai, China. The proposed registered capital of the joint venture stands at 100 million yuan, with the three parties committing 70 million yuan, 20 million yuan, and 10 million yuan, respectively.
As the AI industry shifts from model training to inference applications, the demand for computing power and optical interconnectivity within AI data centers continues to climb. Fueled by in-depth research into the AI data center optical interconnect sector and confidence in its future growth, the partners aim to broaden the company's business scope from wireless communications into optical communications. This move is designed to achieve a comprehensive technology and product footprint across both edge devices and the data center side, leveraging the listed company's platform resources, Zhaoge Venture Capital's team expertise, and Xinyuan Optoelectronics' technological strengths.
The collaboration will focus on two primary directions: first, developing and manufacturing optical components, optical engines, related modules, and subsystems based on high-end indium phosphide laser chips and other optical chips pioneered by Xinyuan Optoelectronics; second, integrating core supply chain resources, such as digital signal processing (DSP) chips, with the optical chip assets from Xinyuan Optoelectronics to design, package, and produce optical communication modules for data centers.
By establishing the joint venture on the foundation of the listed company platform, this initiative is expected to significantly bolster the company's core competitiveness.
