Cowell e Holdings Inc. released its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026, highlighting solid top-line growth and improved earnings despite a volatile macro environment.
Revenue climbed 18.0% year on year to US$1.60 billion, driven by increased demand for high-specification optical modules, higher shipment volumes to key customers and continued product-mix optimisation. Gross profit rose 15.7% to US$180.11 million, translating to a gross margin of 11.22% (1H25: 11.44%).
Operating profit advanced 14.4% to US$108.39 million. A sharp decline in finance costs to US$3.23 million (1H25: US$9.57 million) supported bottom-line performance, leading to a 32.9% increase in net profit to US$89.62 million. Basic earnings per share reached US$0.104 (1H25: US$0.078), while diluted EPS was US$0.101.
The balance sheet remained robust. Total assets stood at US$1.51 billion, and total equity reached US$812.65 million, up 11.1% from year-end 2025. Net current assets were US$435.78 million, underpinned by US$404.0 million in unencumbered cash and cash equivalents. Aggregate bank borrowings were US$141.84 million, with no asset pledge; the gearing ratio (net debt to net debt plus equity) remained negative at -56.7%, reflecting a net cash position.
Capital expenditure increased to US$49.10 million (1H25: US$44.40 million), mainly for advanced flip-chip camera-module production equipment. The employee base expanded to 7,274, and total staff costs rose 6.1% to US$65.60 million.
The Board did not declare an interim dividend, citing the need to preserve capital for product development and evolving customer requirements.
Management reaffirmed its strategy to deepen R&D investment, enhance large-scale delivery capability and leverage AI-driven opportunities across smart devices, machine vision and automotive electronics. With a strong cash position, stable customer pipeline and expanding manufacturing capacity, Cowell targets sustained growth amid ongoing industry digitisation and automation trends.
