On September 10, the Development and Reform Bureau of Jieyang City in Guangdong Province released a public notice regarding the pre-approval of the capacity expansion project for the State Power Investment Corporation Jieyang Jinghai 150MW Offshore Wind Project.

According to the announcement, the expansion project is situated in the southeastern waters off Jinghai Town, Jieyang City, covering an offshore area of approximately 24 square kilometers with water depths ranging from 31 to 33 meters. The center of the site is located roughly 19.37 kilometers from the coastline.

The project plans a total installed capacity of 400MW, with the offshore section featuring 29 wind turbine units of 14MW each (subject to final bidding results), 6 circuits of 66kV submarine collection cables, 2 circuits of 220kV submarine cables, one 220kV offshore substation, and an onshore control center. The estimated annual grid-connected electricity output is approximately 1,358.4 GWh, with around 3,345.9 equivalent full-load hours per year.

In line with local requirements, energy storage will be configured at 10% of the installed capacity for a duration of 2 hours, translating to a storage capacity of 40MW/80MWh, which will be secured through leasing arrangements. The total investment for the project is 5,016.18 million yuan, with a planned construction period of 37 months.
