Several netizens recently took to social media platforms to report that their children fell ill after dining at the Cafe de Coral outlet in Guangzhou's Panyu Tianhe City mall, exhibiting symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and fever, which are suspected to be linked to food poisoning. In more severe cases, some children were reportedly transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) due to the gravity of their conditions. Additionally, one parent noted that a stool sample from their child had tested positive for Salmonella at the hospital.

In response, Guangzhou Cafe de Coral Food Co., Ltd. issued a public statement addressing the incident at its Panyu Tianhe City branch. The company acknowledged receiving the complaints and stated that it has attached great importance to the matter and is fully cooperating with all investigations. Preliminary findings indicate that all affected consumers had consumed "egg fried rice" on the day of the incident, though the final conclusion will be determined by the results of government authorities' investigation.

The statement further detailed that government regulators arrived at the outlet promptly to conduct on-site inspections and evidence collection. At present, the disease control department has completed sampling of personnel, the environment, and relevant food items for testing. These investigative efforts are ongoing, and the root cause of the incident awaits official confirmation. During this inquiry period, under the guidance of the relevant government bodies, the company has fully implemented all required control measures at the outlet and has suspended its operations.

The company also emphasized its concern for the affected consumers' well-being, noting that it has dispatched dedicated staff to visit those hospitalized, assist in coordinating medical resources, and address specific difficulties. Furthermore, it is actively engaging in communication and negotiations with the consumers, and has already reached settlements with several individuals. The company continues to follow up with all those impacted, and notes that some are showing signs of recovery, with a number already discharged from the hospital.

In a gesture of accountability, the company offered its sincere apologies to the affected parties and the public, reaffirming its commitment to cooperating with authorities to determine the cause and ensure food safety standards are upheld.
