Shares of XIAOCAIYUAN (00999) advanced more than 4% in Tuesday trading, marking a notable uptick in investor sentiment. As of the latest update, the stock was up 3.81% at HK$8.30, with turnover reaching approximately HK$22.82 million.

In the first half of this year, the company reported revenue of HK$2.903 billion, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 7%. However, net profit attributable to shareholders stood at HK$290 million, a decline of 24.2% compared with the same period last year. The drop was primarily driven by the company's proactive price adjustments aimed at enhancing value for money, which consequently raised the proportion of raw material and employee costs relative to revenue.

On the capital return front, the board has approved an interim dividend of HK$0.2139 per share, amounting to a total payout of roughly HK$250 million, equating to a generous payout ratio of 86.3%. Analysts at Industrial Securities believe that the company's robust dividend policy is a positive sign, and they anticipate that profit margins could stabilize and improve on a sequential basis in the second half. The brokerage advises market participants to closely monitor same-store sales performance as a key indicator of ongoing recovery.
