Starting today at midnight, domestic gasoline and diesel prices will rise. The price of standard gasoline will increase by 260 yuan per tonne, while standard diesel will go up by 250 yuan per tonne.

Since the last domestic refined oil product price adjustment on August 28, the conflict between the US and Iran has escalated once more. This has driven a sustained surge in international crude oil prices, with an especially abnormal spike observed in oil prices from the Middle East region.

To cushion the domestic impact of rising global oil costs, safeguard stable economic operations, and protect people's livelihoods, temporary control measures have been implemented on domestic refined oil product prices. These measures remain within the framework of the existing pricing mechanism.

According to calculations under the current pricing system, the standard gasoline and diesel prices should have increased by 435 yuan and 420 yuan per tonne on September 11. However, with the regulatory adjustments in place, the actual price hikes have been set at 260 yuan and 250 yuan per tonne, respectively. The National Development and Reform Commission will guide production and sales enterprises to ensure sufficient output and transportation, securing a stable market supply. Additionally, it will work with relevant departments to strengthen market supervision and inspection, strictly penalizing illegal activities such as failure to comply with national pricing policies, in order to maintain orderly market operations and safeguard consumer interests.
