On September 10th, US stock index futures showed mixed movement during premarket trading. As of the time of writing, Dow Jones futures were up 0.34%, S&P 500 futures gained 0.2%, while Nasdaq 100 index futures edged slightly lower.
Semiconductor and memory chip stocks collectively declined in premarket trading, with SK Hynix dropping over 2%, Intel and Marvell Technology each falling more than 1%, and SanDisk, Micron Technology, and Western Digital all trending downward. Among popular Chinese stocks listed in the US, the majority slipped premarket, with Bilibili down over 2%, Baidu falling more than 1%, and NIO, JD.com, Pinduoduo, and Alibaba all posting modest losses.
In the tech sector, Meta, which surged sharply the previous day, maintained its upward momentum in premarket trading. Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and Alphabet all rose, though gains remained under 1% for each. Meanwhile, SpaceX and Tesla moved lower.
Turning to Hong Kong markets, the Hang Seng Index closed at 24,954.47 points, down 1.27%, while the Hang Seng Tech Index settled at 4,330.49 points, a decline of 2.04%. Leading AI model developers were the biggest losers, with Zhipu falling over 10% and MiniMax dropping more than 8%. Major internet and tech names also declined collectively, with NIO down over 4%, and Meituan, Baidu Group, and BYD Electronic all losing more than 3%.
