Nyxoah (NYXH) said Monday it implanted the first patient in Breathe, its US post-approval trial evaluating its Genio system to treat obstructive sleep apnea.
The neuromodulation device provides an alternative treatment option for adults with moderate to severe forms of the sleep disorder, the company said.
The trial will enroll up to 229 subjects in the US to evaluate long-term device safety and effectiveness over five years, and the primary endpoints will measure changes in apnea severity and blood oxygen levels after 12 months, Nyxoah said.
Shares of the company were up over 1% in Tuesday premarket activity.
