1524 ET - Sale leasebacks, or transactions in which a business sells a property and immediately rents it back, totaled about $4.57 billion across the U.S. during this year's second quarter, nearly 60% more than in the same period of last year, according to SLB Capital Advisors, which specializes in such deals. The number of transactions increased about 14%, to 178. "Paired with a strong 1Q, the first half of 2026 reflects sustained momentum and the most active start to a year since 2022," the New York firm says. The industrial sector represented the largest share, or 42%, of sale leasebacks during the latest quarter, SLB's data shows. Real estate investment trust Vici Properties had the largest deal in the period with its acquisition of seven casino locations from Golden Entertainment for $1.16 billion.
