Ryanair (RYAAY) Chief Executive Officer Michael O'Leary warned that passenger fares could increase noticeably if petroleum prices stay high into 2027, multiple news outlets reported Thursday, citing his comments to reporters prior to the company's annual general meeting.
The airline anticipates a slight drop in ticket prices during Q2, while expectations for the December and March periods remain completely unclear, the news outlets quoted O'Leary as saying.
"If oil prices remain high into next year, I think there will be a significant uplift in airfares," O'Leary said, according to the report.
