US-based electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has formally forayed into the Vietnam market by establishing a subsidiary named Tesla Motors Vietnam, according to an official document dated Sept. 11.
As per the filing, the new entity is authorized to engage in wholesale and retail sales of automobiles, vehicle parts, machinery and equipment, and related import, export and distribution activities.
The Vietnamese unit was set up with charter capital of 77.7 billion dong.
