NASDAQ Recovers, but Industrial Stocks are Still Struggling
Dow Jones
The Nasdaq composite recently traded 0.1% lower on the day, a near-full recovery after being down 1.3% earlier. If the tech-heavy index finishes in positive territory today, it would be the biggest intraday comeback since April 7.
While some big tech stocks have made up ground this afternoon, industrial stocks are still under pressure over concerns that the much-discussed AI safety slowdown will hurt their revenue growth from new data centers in coming years.
Among the hardest industrial stocks in the S&P 500 today:
-- GE Vernova, down 8.8%.
-- Eaton, down 7.4%
-- Vertiv, down 7.2%
-- Johnson Controls, down 6.3%.
-- Caterpillar, down 4%.
